Spring Show 2002
The Spring Show 2002 was a major success with good attendance & the highest amount of entries for some years. We had a large crowd through the door who not only enjoyed a glorious day weather-wise but also appreciated all the flowers & produce all bursting with spring promise! The daffodil classes were hotly contested in particular & the quality of blooms was excellent. Many beautiful specimens were staged filling the entire hall with fragrance!
Flower arrangements were of a good standard & beautifully executed with some success enjoyed by the men too!

There were some nice specimens in the flowering pot plants too such as this beautiful Clivia (Kaffir Lily), right.

There were fewer vegetable classes as is the norm for the show at this time of year but some classes were hotly contested, especially the rhubarb (right), and some stunning prize winning leeks (left).

There were some nice looking wines in the brewing sections & cakes, pastries & preserves looked excellent with an appropriate theme for the cakes this year with the show being at the Easter weekend. Easter also featured in the childrens drawing competition with some lovely bunnies & chicks! There were some quality handicrafts & the photographic competition was excellent with a very high number of entries for most classes.
